Not sure if we mentioned this before, but we spent our honeymoon on the island of Aruba, & fell in love with place instantly. We went in April of 09 about 2 months before we began our journey towards losing 100lbs each. Although we were bigger then, we enjoyed our time there so much that we have made it a annual trip since then and gone back 4 times. Well we are booked for our 5th trip this April and have begun what we call our “Aruba Prep”
“Aruba Prep” for us is simply aiming to be in better condition each time we take a trip – especially to a place where we will be laid back on the beach for most of the day So with that said, our “off season” is officially over. Our offseason went really well, we both made gainz of strength and muscle while keeping our waist sizes the same. So we are now about 9 weeks out and have already started to tighten up the eating plan, measuring our food and journaling our intake. One thing we havnt done is to add in a boatload of cardio right out of the gate – which would be a mistake. Given the choice of doing alot of cardio or adjusting the eating plan to lose fat, we would rather make eating plan adjustments first until a plateau is reached then add cardio slowly. As far as training goes, we will still continue with 5/3/1 because we are not bodybuilders or fitness competitors interested in stepping on the stage, our goal is to just look our best in a place where we will be wearing less clothing So maintaining/building strength will continue to be a priority right next to leaning out during this phase. Who knows, we might even schedule a photo shoot while there! Have a great weekend all!
